The European Bank for induced Stem Cells (EBiSC) is designed to address the increasing demand by iPSC researchers for quality-controlled, disease-relevant research grade iPSC lines, data and cell services. Its goal is to demonstrate an operational banking and distribution service of iPSC lines and to establish subsequently for Europe a centralised, not-for-profit bank providing all qualified users with access to scalable, cost-efficient and customised products.

Roslin Cell Sciences is the major participant in the IMI funded EBiSC project and operates the central facility for the creation, expansion and testing of iPSC lines to be deposited into the EBiSC bank.

We have implemented a robust and standardised approach to stem cell banking based on international best practice covering all stages from consent and procurement to distribution.
